$42,156 annually SUMMARY:
This is a position within the Information Management Department of the Court of Common Pleas of Allegheny County, Family Division, Juvenile Section. The Data Entry Clerk's responsibilities include greeting and assisting the public and Juvenile Court staff, processing police reports, Children, Youth and Family referrals, Shuman Admissions and data entry into Court Database. This individual must possess good public relations skills, good interpersonal skills and work as part of a team. Assignments may involve some initiative and independent judgment; incumbents receive daily oral instructions. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
The incumbent must possess the educational level of a high school degree or its equivalent and six months experience in an office or court setting; or any equivalent experience or training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities The incumbent must have the ability to follow general clerical and office procedures and practices possess excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, accurate typing skills, and the ability to work with minimal supervision Must be able to work effectively with the public and staff This individual is expected to perform position responsibilities within six months of assumption of duties Computer, typewriter, copier, facsimile, telephone system, shredder Must be able to work in confidential office conditions Must be able to sit, reach, bend, stoop, stand, and perform repetitive motions with wrists, hands, and fingers Must be able to perform daily writing, typing and computer input assignments, open/close files, operate office machines Must be able to use phone system, able to read reports and computer screen Requires manual dexterity and range of hearing/vision sufficient to perform job duties Must be able to read computer screen Must be able to clearly communicate with public/coworkers Must be able to stand, open files and operate office machines, must be able to write, type and use phone system LICENSE REQUIREMENTS

Answering, screening and routing callsto appropriate parties Providing information or forwardinginquiries and requests to appropriate staff Processing case closings, recordchecks, police reports and referrals, PO assignments and Court dispositions Researching criminal records asrequired Updating files and statistics on thecomputer; following the establishedprocedures for manually filing, retrieving and purging files Processing incoming mail, and preparingoutgoing mail Operating office equipment such as thecomputer, copier, facsimile, telephone Registering the public as they arrivefor scheduled hearings Checking police referrals for accuracyin crimes code number, sections and gradings Researching prior arrests Acting as liaison with police to obtainaccurate information on juvenile arrests Enter critical data into JCMS databaseon a daily basis from various sources Organize and prepare files for storage,which includes database entry and hardcopy file storage Completing additional assignments in atimely and accurate manner Assisting/substituting in other areasas neede.
