Job Title:
Data Entry Clerk 1 Job Description The Data Entry Clerk 1 supports a newly developed Branch Operations Process Excellence team by accurately entering, managing, and verifying data to ensure consistent and efficient operational processes. This role focuses on maintaining accurate records, creating and updating system entries, and supporting branch operations through precise data management and coordination with cross-functional teams. The position offers exposure to multiple areas of the business, opportunities for professional development, and potential upward mobility within the organization. Responsibilities Monitor the ticketing system and respond to requests in a timely and professional manner. Create new item numbers within the product master system, ensuring accuracy and consistency. Create, update, and confirm purchase orders in accordance with company procedures. Support branch operations through accurate data management and process coordination. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support operational efficiency and adherence to established processes. Operate data entry devices, such as keyboards or computers, to verify and input data into designated systems. Read source documents, such as canceled checks, sales reports, or bills, and enter data into specific data fields or systems using keyboards or scanners. Compile, sort, and verify the accuracy of data before it is entered into systems. Locate and correct data entry errors, or report them to supervisors for resolution. Compare data with source documents or re-enter data in verification format to detect discrepancies. Maintain logs of activities and completed work to ensure accurate documentation and traceability. Manage personal workload and projects to meet deadlines and maintain high levels of accuracy. Support continuous improvement initiatives within the Branch Operations Process Excellence team by following standardized processes and contributing to process enhancements. Essential Skills Excellent computer skills with strong proficiency in data entry and basic office software. High attention to detail and a strong focus on accuracy in all data-related tasks. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Strong time management skills with the ability to work independently and manage one's workload. Ability to accurately document and record customer or client information. Previous experience with computer applications, such as Microsoft Word and Excel. Documentation skills, including the ability to maintain clear and organized records. High school diploma or GED required. 0-2 years of related experience in data entry or a similar administrative role. Additional Skills & Qualifications Detail-oriented mindset with the ability to identify and correct data discrepancies. Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Comfort working in a structured, process-driven environment focused on operational excellence. Completion of a speed and accuracy data entry test may be required. Interest in process improvement and continuous improvement initiatives. Motivation to grow within the organization and pursue opportunities for upward mobility. Work Environment This is a full-time, on-site contract position based in an office environment in Powder Springs, GA. The role follows a standard schedule of 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Eastern, working 40 hours per week. Remote work is not available for this position, and employees are expected to perform their duties on site. You will work as part of a small team of approximately five people within a Branch Operations Process Excellence function that focuses on improving and standardizing operational processes. The work involves extensive use of computers, keyboards, and standard office software, including applications such as Microsoft Word and Excel. The environment supports professional development, exposure to multiple business areas, and participation in new projects as the department grows. Interviews are conducted via online video using a platform such as Microsoft Teams, typically scheduled Monday through Friday during standard business hours. Dress expectations align with a typical professional office setting. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Powder Springs, GA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $21.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
