Duties Operate material handling equipment such as loaders, excavators, forklifts, front loader trucks, roll-off trucks, and garbage trucks to efficiently move recyclable materials. Manage recyclable materials handling processes at various collection points and transfer stations. Conduct heavy equipment operation while adhering to safety protocols and PPE use to prevent accidents and injuries. Assist in landfill management activities, including waste sorting, compaction, and environmental compliance checks. Maintain cleanliness of work areas through regular cleaning and sanitation practices to ensure a safe environment. Follow hazardous materials regulations during the handling and transportation of potentially dangerous recyclables or waste. Support outdoor work activities involving heavy lifting, material sorting, and waste disposal with a focus on safety and efficiency. Skills Proven experience operating heavy equipment such as loaders, excavators, forklifts, front loader trucks, roll-off trucks, and garbage trucks. Strong mechanical knowledge related to recycling machinery and material handling equipment. Knowledge of solid waste management practices, landfill operations, and environmental compliance standards. Familiarity with safety regulations including hazard communication and PPE protocols for outdoor work environments. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining proper ergonomic techniques. Excellent understanding of recyclable materials handling processes and sanitation procedures.
