The Outreach and Engagement Specialist (OES) reports to Cal Voices' CalAIM Quality Assurance Manager and works in the Enhanced Care Management (ECM) program operating in Alpine, Amador, Calaveras, El Dorado, Placer, Sacramento, San Joaquin, and Stanislaus Counties. The OES provides administrative and practical support to the Enhanced Care Coordinators (ECCs) on the ECM team; identifies and locates individuals eligible for ECM services; conducts centralized client referral and eligibility verifications; monitors and reviews clients' eligibility, insurance, and authorization for ECM services; communicates with Medi-Cal Managed Care Plans; sends relevant information to clients' care teams; and tracks, documents, and reports ECM referrals. The OES also specializes in field-based, client-facing engagement, assesses and enrolls clients in ECM services directly within community settings, and provides warm hand-offs of clients to their assigned ECCs. Successful OESs are people-oriented and possess knowledge of the local communities within Cal Voices' ECM service areas. This is a fast-paced work environment where new tasks unexpectedly arise and priorities frequently shift, so organization, effective time management, personal flexibility, internal motivation, and a sense of humor are also essential. OESs must possess a Medi-Cal Peer Support Specialist Certification, Community Health Worker Certificate, or other relevant paraprofessional credential. Cal Voices is a consumer-operated organization that employs peers all of in its client-facing programs. As such, OESs must possess direct (firsthand/personal) lived experience that aligns with one or more of Cal Voices' ECM Populations of Focus (see

Lived Experience ). Individuals from traditionally-underserved populations (BIPOC, LGBTQ+, veterans, immigrants, refugees, etc.), or who are fluent in Spanish or another threshold language[1] are strongly desired in this role. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Lived Experience:
Direct (firsthand/personal) lived experience of any of the following: Recovery from a severe mental illness and/or substance use disorder Homelessness Incarceration in a jail, prison, or other correctional facility Managing a chronic, disabling, or life-threatening medical condition Involvement in the child welfare system/foster care as a child or youth
Education:
A high school diploma, GED, or equivalent (an associate's degree or some college in a relevant field is preferred)
Professional Credential:
A Medi-Cal Peer Support Specialist Certification, Community Health Worker Certificate, or other relevant paraprofessional credential (within 60 days of hire)
Work Experience:
At least two years of professional experience performing all or most of the Core Functions of this position (see

Although not guaranteed, future pay increases may be given based on revenue growth, demonstrated skills, quality of work performance, and/or value of the employee's contributions to the agency.
Starting Compensation:
$27.00/hour
Benefits:
This position is eligible for employer-paid medical (up to 95%), dental (100%), vision (100%), and life insurance (100% of $50,000 policy) plans. Eligible employees may purchase family/dependent health benefits and additional life insurance through these plans. Optional benefits include voluntary participation in Cal Voices' 403(b) retirement plan, pre-tax health and dependent care accounts, long term disability plan, and more.
