Job Description

Job Summary Caring Cardiology Medical Group's mission is to provide the highest quality cardiovascular care possible in a compassionate and friendly setting. Caring Cardiology is looking for a motivated individual to join our team as an Insurance Verification Specialist. This person will be responsible for verifying insurance benefits, eligibility, and obtaining prior authorizations. We are looking for a person to join our team long-term.
Essential Job Functions:
Verifies insurance benefits on all patient appointments on payer portals or by calling payors to determine level of insurance coverage. Check on prior authorization requirements, obtain proper authorization in a timely manner. Identifies correct payer plans within the practice management system to add coverage to accounts. Documents accurate demographics into practice management system. Responds to insurance eligibility questions from clinic staff timely. Calls patients to obtain insurance information if lapsed or missing. Other duties as assigned.

Experience/Education:
Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree preferred.
Preferred:
Experience with insurance eligibility in a healthcare setting. Knowledge of health insurance verification requirements and processes. Knowledge of payer specific guidelines including Medi-Cal, Medicare, Commercial PPO. Knowledge of health insurance benefits. Experience in Electronic Health Record system, eClinicalWorks preferred. Strong computer skills, proficiency in data entry and Microsoft programs such as Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams and Internet. Must have excellent customer service skills, good energy and a positive attitude. Requires strong typing and computer skills in a windows environment with strong attention to detail. Bilingual in English and Farsi is a plus!
