Summary:
In addition to many other duties, serves as the primary functional contact for receiving and processing admissions-related applications and paperwork.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Process student paper and online application records: enter, verify, and update data in both Banner and Slate record systems; extensive knowledge of Banner/Slate and technical coding necessary as this information impacts assessment of fees, residency, program choice, etc. This includes evaluation of student application credentials to determine the eligibility for application evaluation, retention of student credentials, and eligibility of students to be reactivated into an academic program. This includes the collecting and handling of confidential and sensitive information such as application fees, Social Security numbers, birthdates, ethnicity, race, citizen type, grades, and test scores. Counsels and advises applicants, students, and faculty on university application requirements, both domestic and international; this includes information such as academic programs, certificate choices, terms of attendance, deferrals, login ID's, etc. Extensive knowledge of the Banner and Slate systems must be attained and used daily as those systems relate to each other in solving interface issues, as information passes from one system to the other. Assists in managing student application activities, including entering and scanning in test scores, transcripts, and biographical data (resumes, letters of reference, narratives, writing samples etc.), student hold maintenance, and student recruitment. Evaluate application materials and make admission decisions for certain populations of students (e.g., non-degree seeking, senior learners, etc Assists in managing workflow processes in Banner and identify complete records in Slate for freshman, transfer, graduate and international students to move them forward for evaluation purposes Assists in compiling documentation for fee waivers, residency petitions, and criminal disclosures, working with appropriate departments to resolve any outstanding issues. Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum qualifications (from the SUCSS class specifications): 1.High school diploma or equivalent. 2.Any one or combination totaling two (2) years (24 months) from the categories below: a. course work in any discipline as measured by the following conversion table or its proportional equivalent: 30 semester hours equals one (1) year (12 months) 60 semester hours or an Associate's Degree equals eighteen months (18 months) 90 semester hours equals two (2) years (24 months) b. work experience in administrative support, admissions and enrollment, customer service, public relations, records management, or closely related experience.
