Job Description
Category Schools - Orientation and Mobility Specialist Job Type Contract An Orientation and Mobility Specialist position is open in a Massachusetts school setting for the 2025/2026 school year. This full-time, contract role is based in Andover, MA and involves working onsite to support students in grades K-12 with diverse needs.
Responsibilities include:
Providing orientation and mobility instruction to students with visual impairments Developing individual programs tailored to each student's specific mobility and independence goals Assessing environments and recommending adaptive techniques and tools to enhance student safety and independence Collaborating with educators, families, and related service providers to ensure a comprehensive approach to student successQualifications:
Current and active Orientation and Mobility license in Massachusetts Proven experience working with school-age children requiring orientation and mobility services Ability to work onsite Monday through Friday, 8:15 AM to 3:15 PM for a total of 37.5 hours per week Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with school teams and familiesLocation:
Andover, MA Schedule:
Full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:15 AM - 3:15PM Caseload:
Students ranging from kindergarten through 12th grade This role offers the opportunity to make a direct impact on young students' independence and daily functioning within a school environment. If you hold the necessary licensure and are committed to supporting students' mobility needs onsite, this position provides a rewarding professional setting.
