NSR is seeking a
Certified Peer Recovery Specialist CPRS:

All sessions follow strict Minnesota Department of Health guidelines for safety of employees and clients. This is NOT a remote position
Certified Peer Recovery Specialist Summary:
Certified Peer Recovery Support Specialists meet with clients on a regular basis to discuss routine issues from a peer perspective and provide direct assistant in form of transportation, making phone calls, filling out forms, and accompanying clients to appointments and/or court according to section 245G.11, subdivision 8. Certified Peer Recovery Specialist essential duties and responsibilities: 1. Peer support services include education; advocacy; mentoring through self-disclosure of personal recovery experiences 2. Attending recovery and other support groups with a client 3. Transporting and staying with a client at crisis appointments 4. Accompanying the client to appointments that support recovery 5. Assistance accessing resources to obtain housing, employment, education, and advocacy services (including finding necessary community programs to meet basic needs) 6. Nonclinical recovery support to assist the transition from treatment into the recovery community. 7. Assisting with tasks associated with clients arriving and leaving NSR 8. Helping the client with developing and implementing Alumi Community events 9. The ability to maintaining and processing confidential client records 10. Must be supervised by a LADC assigned by the license holder a. The supervising LADC must document the amount and type of supervision b. The supervision must occur at least bi weekly Certified Peer Recovery Specialist Continuing Education and Training Stay current regarding professional research, techniques, etc. Complete 245G and continuing education courses in current treatment concepts and methods as required by the State of Minnesota to maintain professional license. Attend in-house training and staff meetings.
Certified Peer Recovery Specialist Personnel Supervised:
None Certified Peer Recovery Specialist Minimum Qualifications:
18 years of age High school diploma or equivalent Must be free of chemical use problems for at least the one year immediately preceding hire. Ability to model a lifestyle that is in compliance with NSR Code of Conduct Good driving record, valid Minnesota Driver's License, and current insurance. Ability to successfully complete MN Dept of Human Services background study. Comply with 245G and Program Policies & Procedures Hold a current credential from Minnesota Verification Board, the Upper Midwest Indian Council on Addictive Disorders, or the National Association for Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors. An individual may also receive a credential from a tribal nation when providing peer recovery support services in a tribally licensed program. Current TB/Mantoux screening
