An Enrollment Specialist provides assistance and information for people who apply for a government benefits program or health care program. Answers questions, assists with an application process, and reviews applications and relevant background information to determine eligibility. Assists eligible applicants with enrolling in a program.
Admissions Specialist - College of Graduate & Extended Studies
GENERAL SUMMARY
This position is responsible for maintaining the student database by entering, verifying, and correcting application and new student data, processing transcripts, organization of committee appeals, management of incoming digital forms, oversight of CGES (College of Graduate & Extended Studies) Admissions general inbox, and contacting prospective students with reminders and updates. Other duties, as assigned.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Accurately process incoming test scores and transcripts for undergraduate and graduate students 35% Accurately update/modify data in student record system 15% Accurately process undergraduate and graduate applications 10% Accurately view and index images (virtual imaging system) 10% Accurately processes PEP incoming documents 15% Contact prospective students with reminders and updates 10% Accomplish department and organization mission by completing related tasks as needed 5% Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS
HS Diploma or GED. 2 years of work experience in an office setting that requires accurate data-entry is preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Candidates should be able to work a standard 40-hour week on campus. Must able to sit or stand for long periods of time in front of a computer.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Candidate must possess the following: A strong and proven work ethic, be a quick learner, excellent written and verbal communication skills, exceptional attention to detail with proven history of little to no errors in data entry, must be willing to provide excellent customer service at all times. Experience with data entry, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access), email, scanners, and mail merge a must. Lift 25 lbs., when necessary, stand and/or sit to complete job duties.
