This is a high-stake, fast-moving position where you will directly advocate for families navigating complex state benefits. You will own your cases from initial financial assessment to final state approval. Key Responsibilities Case Management:
Own and manage a high-volume caseload, prioritize tasks independently, and meet strict state-mandated deadlines. Missing a state deadline has severe financial consequences for our clients.
Client Advocacy:
Explain complex Medicaid regulations, spend-down options, and financial obligations to stressed families with empathy and clarity.
Auditing:
Request, obtain, and organize documentation. Conduct detailed reviews of bank statements, tax records, and other assets to prepare flawless Medicaid applications.
External Liaison:
Proactively follow up via phone, mail, and email with financial institutions, healthcare facilities, and county caseworkers.
Data Integrity:
Draft precise legal correspondence, track information, and input all case updates across multiple internal systems. Fill out forms, verify documentation is complete and accurate while ensuring the application if filed in a timely manner.
Intrinsic motivation to chase down missing documents without being managed, a strong commitment to task completion, and a proactive approach to continuous skill development.
Analytical & Efficient:
Ability to spot a missing signature, required document, or a conflicting financial transaction instantly. Have strong organizational and time management skills.
Clear Communication & Persistence:
Exceptional written and verbal skills; ability to explain dense rules simply. Comfortable making frequent follow-up calls and navigating bureaucratic red tape. Preferred Experience Prior experience with Medicaid planning, elder law, medical billing, social work, long-term care, or healthcare administration. Experience working as a paralegal or within a law firm, Medicaid eligibility specialist, Medicaid Consultant, application specialist, case manager, or county caseworker. Knowledge of state assistance programs and managed care systems. Position Details Full time in person at our Cherry Hill office. Monday through Friday 8:30 am to 5:00 pm with a 1-hour lunch break. In addition to salary, this role offers an exciting monthly bonus program based on the number of application approvals pursuant to the plan.
