Job Description

Job Description We are seeking an Enrollment Specialist focused on supporting the Virginia Insurance Marketplace (VIM) and State-Based Exchange (SBE) processes. This individual will serve as a critical resource for managing high-volume enrollment and reinstatement activities, coordinating with internal teams, and ensuring timely resolution of member-related issues. The role requires strong research abilities, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills to navigate complex enrollment scenarios and marketplace requirements. This is a fully remote contract position supporting a team that experiences significant volume increases during Open Enrollment. The ideal candidate is dependable, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, process-driven environment. Day-to-Day Responsibilities
  • Manage a shared inbox and process incoming requests from Enrollment, Finance, and marketplace partners.
  • Review and resolve SBE/VIM-related tickets and member enrollment issues.
  • Process non-payment terminations and submit reinstatement requests as needed.
  • Investigate missing enrollments, file transmission issues, and eligibility discrepancies.
  • Communicate with the Virginia Insurance Marketplace (VIM) to obtain missing files, verify information, and resolve outstanding cases.
  • Validate rates and billing information to ensure accurate enrollment records.
  • Handle urgent reinstatement requests and prioritize time-sensitive work.
  • Research and troubleshoot enrollment-related issues by gathering information from multiple systems and stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and follow established procedures while meeting service-level expectations.
  • Collaborate closely with Enrollment and Finance teams to ensure timely resolution of cases.
Compensation:
$18/hr-$20/hr. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.   • High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in data entry or related fields are a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to research, investigate, and resolve complex issues independently.
  • Experience working in a high-volume administrative, customer service, operations, or case-management environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency navigating multiple systems and applications simultaneously.
  • Dependable attendance and commitment during peak enrollment periods. Preferred
  • Experience with CMS (Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services).
  • Experience supporting health insurance enrollment, benefits administration, or healthcare operations.
  • Familiarity with the Virginia Insurance Marketplace (VIM) or marketplace enrollment processes.
  • Prior experience working within a ticketing, case-management, or workflow-driven environment.
  • Experience handling eligibility, enrollment, billing, or reinstatement activities.
