Graduate Admissions Specialist Texas Wesleyan University - 4.1 Fort Worth, TX Job Details 13 hours ago Qualifications Bachelor's degree Full Job Description Posting Details Position Information Job Title Graduate Admissions Specialist Position Summary Responsible for the recruitment and admission of international undergraduate students and master's, doctoral, and certificate students to Texas Wesleyan University. Primary duties include visiting schools, colleges, universities, and/or organizations; planning on-campus recruitment events; meeting with prospective students; evaluating admission applications; and assisting with special programs and projects as assigned. This position works closely with prospective new students in the support of the transition to Texas Wesleyan University. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Collaborates with the Director of Graduate and Global Recruitment and Program Directors to develop, implement and coordinate program centered strategic recruitment and engagement activities via establishing relationships with surrounding school districts, organizations, 4-year colleges, and businesses relevant to graduate degrees. Provides initial admission counseling to prospective graduate students and prospective international undergraduate students. Assists prospective students in all steps of the application process including inquiry, applying, admission and transition to enrolled student. Provides effective follow-up communication for prospective students and applicants. Occasional evening and weekend service hours will be required. Reviews completed graduate applications and transcripts for faculty review and admission. Communicates with applicants about required application materials in order to provide admissions decisions in a timely manner. Tracks communication with prospective graduate students and prospective international undergraduate students through the CRM and provides weekly, monthly and year-end reports on program activity. Schedules all campus visits, tours, and meetings for prospective graduate students, prospective international undergraduate students, and groups. This will include proper communication with guests and other offices on campus, maintenance of the registration process, staffing, room reservations, the creation of special agendas, and campus collaboration. Develops partnerships with community organizations and businesses to recruit their members to graduate programs at Texas Wesleyan University. Serves as SEVP-approved Designated School Official and assists with I-20 issuances for international graduate and undergraduate students. Collaborates with the PDSO to provide support to international students related to onboarding and SEVP compliance. Supports the planning of international student programming, including New Student Orientation Tracks applications, admits, and country-level data. Stays abreast of trends and best practices for recruitment using internal and external data. Other duties as assigned by the Director of Graduate and Global Recruitment. Education, Certifications and/or Licenses A bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college/university required, master's preferred Experience Previous admissions and/or recruitment related experience strongly desired Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Demonstrated administrative ability to plan and execute programs and activities, to secure cooperation from individuals and organizations, and to coordinate the activities of such individuals and organizations. Proficiency with an integrated administrative system and current software programs. Ability to demonstrate a cooperative attitude while working with a diverse student population. Ability to work independently with minimum supervision. Ability to handle multiple tasks while maintaining a high attention for details. Strong organizational skills to work productively & efficiently to meet multiple deadlines. Ability to work individually and within a team environment. Ability to adhere to university & departmental policies and procedures. Ability to be discrete handling confidential matters, while complying with FERPA regulations. Outstanding interpersonal and community relations skills. Ability to maintain a professional appearance and office atmosphere.
