Hospital Insurance Verification Specialist Yasmesoft Inc Alexandria, VA Job Details Full-time | Contract $20 - $21 an hour 7 hours ago Benefits Health insurance Qualifications Teamwork Insurance verification HIPAA Attention to detail Time management Full Job Description Job Summary We are seeking a Hospital Insurance Verification Specialist . This is an onsite position in Alexandria, Virginia and will be staffed on a contractual basis. The hourly rate of pay is $20-$21 per hour, contingent on prior experience. Interested candidates should have Hospital Insurance Verification experience. Job Purpose The Insurance Verification Representative is responsible for obtaining, verifying, and accurately entering complete patient insurance information into clients' host systems. Duties and Responsibilities Use payer web portals to obtain current patient insurance information and update the appropriate client system. Compare insurance information with patient insurance cards scanned into the client system, ensuring each account contains accurate and current information. Follow established procedures for filing claims after all required updates have been entered. Document all actions taken in both internal and client host systems. Work independently from assigned work queues. Meet and maintain daily productivity and quality standards established by departmental policies. Follow all policies and procedures established for the assigned client and team. Communicate clearly and effectively with leadership and team members. Maintain a professional and collaborative attitude. Perform other duties as assigned by the management team. Access, use, protect, and disclose patients' protected health information (PHI) only as permitted by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and applicable company policies. Qualifications Knowledge of insurance verification processes is preferred. Experience with practice management or electronic health record systems—such as GE Centricity, Epic PB, Cerner, or Allscripts—is preferred. Familiarity with payer websites and portals, including eviCore, NaviNet, and Novitasphere, is preferred. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Strong organizational, time-management, and task-prioritization skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including basic Microsoft Excel skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to maintain accuracy and attention to detail in a productivity-driven environment. Please submit your resume for immediate consideration!
