Job Summary:
 The Executive Assistant II provides complex administrative support for Vice President or position of comparable size, scope, and complexity. Performs complex and non-routine administrative tasks requiring frequent discretion and independent judgement. Acts as liaison of the executive and their office. Drafts and sends communications on executive's behalf. Manages the office of the executive to include supervision of office staff. Oversees maintenance of all files, records, and reports. Oversee and works on special projects.

The Division for Research drives this mission by supporting world-class faculty, advancing cutting-edge research, and fostering meaningful collaborations with government, industry, and community partners while managing more than $600M in open contracts and awards. This position plays a critical role in supporting this mission by providing high-level, confidential administrative support directly to the Vice President for Research, the Senior Associate Vice President for Research, and other key leaders within the Division for Research. Manages complex schedules. Coordinates executive communications. Ensures the seamless operation of the VPR's office, serving as a key partner in driving UA's research ambitions.
Required Minimum Qualifications:
 Master's degree; OR bachelor's degree and two (2) years of complex administrative support experience; OR associate's degree and four (4) years of complex administrative support experience; OR high school diploma or GED and six (6) years of complex administrative support experience.
Skills and Knowledge:
 Exceptional organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills. Ability to exercise independent judgment, handle highly confidential information with discretion, and manage multiple complex priorities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and executive calendar management. Proactive. Detail-oriented. Ability to work in a fast-paced executive environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
 Five (5) or more years of experience supporting C-level executives, Vice Presidents, or Deans in a higher education or complex corporate setting. Familiarity with The University of Alabama's administrative systems and policies. Experience with UA policies and procedures, including Banner, BuyBAMA, Concur, Electronic Personnel Action forms, Independent Contractor forms, Vendor Disclosure Statements, Professional Service Agreements, and Departmental Transfers. Knowledge and experience with UA's financial accounting, purchasing, and travel policies and procedures. High degree of self-motivation, positivity, and initiative. Experience with large-scale event planning and execution.
