Executive Assistant at Staffing Science Executive Assistant at Staffing Science in Berkeley, California Posted in about 13 hours ago.
Type:
full-time Executive Assistant Bay Area, CA (Oakland-based, on-site 1-2 days/week) $75,000
- 90,000/year, depending on experience About the Role A growth-stage, founder-led company is looking for an Executive Assistant to support one of its founders directly.
This is not a traditional corporate EA role, and it's not a Chief of Staff role. It's a true Executive Assistant/Personal Assistant position for a founder who needs someone who can run alongside him with minimal direction. The right person for this role is a self-starter who figures things out, makes decisions, and moves things forward without waiting for permission. You'll be trusted with real autonomy from day one
- the founder would rather you make a call and adjust later than check in on every little thing.
This is a genuine culture hire. We're looking for someone who will mesh well with a small, close-knit team and a founder who values discretion, initiative, and follow-through over polish. What You'll Do Manage the founder's calendar and day-to-day schedule, including personal commitments Take notes, track details, and follow up so nothing falls through the cracks Help plan family activities, personal travel, and vacations Handle ad hoc personal and professional requests with good judgment and discretion Be a proactive, on-the-ground presence in the Oakland office when the founder is on-site (roughly 1-2 days per week) What We're Looking For Experience supporting a founder, executive, or high-profile individual
- ideally at a smaller company or startup where you wore multiple hats and worked in a fast-moving, high-growth environment Comfort with ambiguity and a bias toward action
- you'd rather solve a problem than escalate it A background in event planning, hospitality, or private client services is a strong plus; we're open to non-traditional paths into this kind of work Strong organizational skills and real attention to detail Someone early-to-mid career rather than a 15-20 year veteran EA
- we're prioritizing hustle, adaptability, and fit over tenure Based in or able to work reliably from the Oakland area No travel is required for this role.
Why This Role You'll work closely with a founder who trusts his team to run things, in an environment that rewards people who take ownership. If you've thrived in scrappier, smaller-company settings and are looking for a role where your judgment and initiative are the whole point of the job, this is built for you.
