Job Description

The Los Angeles County Probation Department is seeking a highly qualified, organized, and experienced professional to serve as Executive Assistant, Probation. This unclassified position will provide high-level administrative, advisory, and operational support within the Office of the Chief Probation Officer. The Executive Assistant will manage sensitive assignments, coordinate executive priorities, prepare complex documents, reports, and presentations, and serve as a liaison with County departments, external stakeholders, community partners, and justice system agencies. The Los Angeles County Probation Department is the nation's largest probation department and a critical part of the County's efforts to develop an equitable, rehabilitative, and restorative justice system. The Department provides evidence-based services to youth, adults, and communities, including supervision, service navigation, and need-based supportive services. The Executive Assistant will support strategic initiatives, Board directives, executive leadership meetings, stakeholder engagement, special projects, and cross-departmental efforts that advance the Department's mission. This position requires sound judgment, discretion, political acumen, strong communication skills, flexibility, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
