Job Summary This position is responsible for providing administrative support to the President. Responsibilities Provides administrative support to the President (60%) Answers telephone and greets visitors; provides information and assistance. Takes messages and makes appointments. Reviews and prioritizes mail, email, and other correspondence. Determines nature of request and responds accordingly. Refers to other appropriate offices or personnel as appropriate. Manages the President¿s calendar and travel schedule. Serves as a liaison between the President and other individuals and groups. Coordinates and facilitates events. (20%) Coordinates and facilitates events hosted by the President and the University. Coordinates with other offices and agencies. Contacts and advises participants and guests. Prepares programs and agendas. Provides other support for the operations of the President¿s Office. (10%) Serves as representative of the President¿s Office on select committees and civic organizations. Maintains budget records; reconciles and verifies vouchers and receipts for accuracy; approves office expenditures. Performs other related duties as assigned. (10%) Required Qualifications Educational Requirements Baccalaureate degree in a course of study related to the occupational field required. Required Experience More than five years of related experience or graduate degree in management Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge of modern office practices and procedures. Knowledge of university and departmental policies and procedures. Knowledge of business English, spelling, punctuation and arithmetic. Knowledge of computers and job-related software programs. SKILLS Skill in prioritizing and organizing work. Skill in the management of files and records. Skill in the use of such office equipment as a computer, scanner, fax machine, and copier. Skill in oral and written communication. SUPERVISORY CONTROLS
The President assigns work in terms of very general instructions. The supervisor spot-checks completed work for compliance with procedures and the nature and propriety of the final results.

Guidelines include system and university policies and procedures. These guidelines require judgment, selection, and interpretation in application.
COMPLEXITY/SCOPE OF WORK
The work consists of varied administrative duties. Frequent interruptions contribute to the complexity of the position. The purpose of this position is to provide administrative support for the operations of the President¿s Office. Successful performance helps ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of university operations.

Contacts are typically with co-workers, other university employees, students, parents, University System staff, external stakeholders, and members of the general public. Contacts are typically to give or exchange information, resolve problems, and provide services.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work is typically performed while sitting at a desk or table or while intermittently sitting, standing, or stooping. The employee occasionally lifts light objects. The work is typically performed in an office.
