PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The majority of the work is performed while sitting. The employee may occasionally carry light files, papers and other office related items.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work is performed in an office setting.
MAJOR DUTIES
: Controls the manager's appointments, answer telephones, and screens all calls and visitors. Schedules and coordinates meetings, appointments, and travel arrangements; prepares agendas and information for trips. Reviews incoming correspondence and determines the proper course of action. Screens publications, regulations, and directives which may be important to the office or members of the staff. Serves as principal administrative support position in the office of the Special Agency in Charge (SAC). Substitutes in the absence of the secretary to the other members of Executive Management. The incumbent is expected to maintain a high level of professionalism, confidentiality, to exercise considerable tact, discretion, and judgement.

Competencies :
Administrative/ Organizational Policies and Procedures Clerical Customer Service Information Management Initiative Collaboration Professionalism/ Integrity Specialized Experience (SE) GS-09: Applicant must possess at least one (1) year of SE equivalent to the GS-08 grade level.
SE is defined as follows:
Reviewed correspondence to ensure conformance with format, grammar, and current policies and regulations. Researched policies to provide advice on administrative procedures and requirements. Gathered, organized, and maintained information on a variety of automated and/or manual systems. Acted as a point-of-contact for internal and external personnel; assessing and addressing questions or conflicts and providing appropriate direction. GS-10: Applicant must possess at least one (1) year of SE equivalent to the GS-09 grade level. SE is defined as follows; Reviewed correspondence to ensure conformance with format, grammar, and current policies and regulations. Offered guidance and clarification on all aspects of administrative policies and procedures. Operated office automation applications, database systems, and other reporting tools to locate information and prepare reports, graphs, and presentations. Served as a liaison between staff personnel, all levels of management, and outside entities; offering assistance and working to provide resolution to inquiries or conflicts. Education Education may not be substituted for specialized experience.
