Job Summary Under general supervision, the Office & Administrative Specialist Sr. supports the Commission's office. The incumbent organizes and provides varied and often complex administrative and communication support for internal and external customers following established guidelines, rules, and statutes in a fast-paced multilingual environment. Tasks are often complicated, and at times, confidential. Responds to assigned administrative tasks that have no immediate solutions within established procedures and guidelines by researching and proposing alternatives. This position requires the ability to work independently, managing multiple priorities to accomplish tasks within a required time frame. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications •To facilitate proper crediting, please ensure that your resume clearly describes your experience in the areas listed and indicates the beginning and ending month, day and year for each job held.•Database, Documents, and Records Management including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint Desktop or Website Publishing sufficient to maintain Commission web content and experience with content management systems English Language sufficient to use proper spelling and grammar Typing/Keyboarding sufficient to edit and compose a variety of documents and online content Signing Skills sufficient to communicate fluently in American Sign Language, including reading and writing Math skills sufficient to maintain accurate financial information in Excel Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of government management processes so as to assure an understanding of, patience with, and respect for, the steps required to complete administrative tasks Knowledge of work simplification techniques and work measurement procedures Knowledge and experience relating to core principles of effective communication, including but not limited to the areas of media relations, visual communication, social media, and web Variety of experiences working effectively with others from different backgrounds and/or cultures Additional Requirements To facilitate proper crediting, please ensure that your resume clearly describes your experience in the areas listed and indicates the beginning and ending month and year for each job held.REFERENCE/BACKGROUND CHECKS
