Location:
On-site in Philadelphia 5 days a week; 35 hours per week We are seeking a highly capable Interim Executive Assistant to support the Chief People Officer (CPO) of a mission-driven nonprofit organization. This role provides high-level administrative, operational, and strategic support to ensure the CPO can operate effectively across executive leadership, board engagement, and organizational priorities. The ideal candidate brings strong judgment, discretion, and experience supporting senior executives in fast-paced, complex environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct executive support to the Chief People Officer, including calendar and travel management, prioritization, and scheduling across multiple time zones and stakeholders. Coordinate internal and external meetings, including leadership team sessions, committee meetings, and cross-functional working groups. Prepare, format, and manage executive-level communications, presentations, and briefing materials. Serve as a trusted gatekeeper for incoming requests, ensuring appropriate prioritization and follow-up. Track action items, deadlines, and strategic initiatives on behalf of the CPO. Support travel planning, expense reporting, and logistics coordination. Partner with HR and leadership teams to ensure smooth execution of People initiatives and events. Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive organizational information with discretion. Provide light project coordination support for People & Culture initiatives as needed.
Qualifications:
4-7 years of experience as an Executive Assistant, preferably supporting C-suite or senior executive leadership. Experience in nonprofit, or similarly mission-driven environments strongly preferred. Strong organizational, prioritization, and time management skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. High level of professionalism, discretion, and emotional intelligence. Proficiency with Microsoft Office ; familiarity with HR or project management tools a plus. Ability to operate independently, anticipate needs, and adapt quickly in a dynamic environment.
Contract Details:
6-month interim engagement with potential to convert to Full-Time.
Hourly rate:
$48•50/hour. Eligibility for extension based on organizational need and performance. This role is critical in ensuring the Chief People Officer can effectively lead enterprise-wide People & Culture priorities, support executive governance, and maintain strong alignment across the organization during a period of transition and high-impact work.
