Houston, TX Job Details Part-time $30 - $35 an hour 13 hours ago Benefits Flexible schedule Qualifications High school diploma or GED Video conferences (communication methods) Full Job Description Job Overview We are seeking a highly capable, discreet, dependable Personal & Executive Assistant to provide integrated personal and executive support to a Houston-based professional. This is a part-time, in-person independent-contractor role designed for approximately 16 hours per week, generally across two 8-hour days. This is not a traditional receptionist, household worker, virtual assistant, or driving-only role. The right person will serve as a trusted second set of eyes—helping keep personal and professional responsibilities organized, prepared, mobile, and moving while anticipating needs before they become problems. The ideal candidate is proactive, highly organized, dependable, discreet, comfortable operating independently, and able to move seamlessly between professional meetings, community engagements, appointments, errands, events, and day-to-day logistics.
The goal is simple:
reduce friction and make the Principal's life easier to move through. Responsibilities Provide executive support through calendar organization, meeting preparation, reminders, document organization, follow-up tracking, and administrative continuity. Provide authorized personal administrative support, including appointments, scheduling, pickups/drop-offs, errands, organization, and other personal logistics. Safely drive the Principal throughout Houston for meetings, speaking engagements, networking events, lunches, appointments, community and philanthropic events, and other professional or personal commitments. Coordinate day-of logistics, including timing, transitions, materials, arrivals, departures, and multiple destinations. Monitor schedules and commitments and proactively identify potential conflicts, delays, preparation needs, or missed follow-ups. Research and organize basic information, materials, briefing notes, and logistical details as requested. Track authorized follow-ups, deadlines, unanswered communications, relationship touchpoints, and next actions. Assist with approved professional, community, philanthropic, speaking, networking, and creative activities. Help protect appropriate Commitment Time, Focus Time, and Open/Recovery Time within the Principal's schedule. Maintain strict confidentiality regarding personal, professional, business, relationship, scheduling, and intellectual-property information. Adapt to changing priorities while maintaining professionalism, sound judgment, and appropriate boundaries. Skills & Qualifications At least 3 years of professional experience in executive assistance, administrative coordination, office management, personal assistance, project coordination, hospitality, client services, operations, event coordination, or a comparable role. Experience supporting an executive, founder, entrepreneur, consultant, public-sector leader, community leader, or similarly active professional is strongly preferred. Exceptional organization and ability to manage multiple priorities, schedules, deadlines, logistics, and follow-through with limited supervision. Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Excellent judgment regarding when to handle, recommend, or ask. Demonstrated ability to anticipate needs rather than simply respond to instructions. Strong discretion and ability to handle confidential or sensitive information. Comfortable using calendars, email, documents, smartphones, navigation tools, video conferencing, and basic online research. Familiarity with Houston geography and major business and community corridors is preferred. Valid driver's license and dependable, properly registered and insured vehicle. Safe driving history suitable for regularly transporting the Principal. Ability to provide approximately 16 in-person service hours per week, generally across two 8-hour days. Availability for occasional mutually agreed evening or weekend support when professional engagements, events, travel, deadlines, or personal logistics require it. Ability to work independently without continuous supervision. Education A high school diploma or GED is required. An associate's or bachelor's degree in business administration, communications, hospitality, public administration, organizational management, or a related field is preferred but not required when equivalent professional experience demonstrates the necessary capability.
