Intake Specialist / Receptionist / File and Medical Records Clerk Company Description ERISA Law Center is a specialized law firm focused on employee benefits and ERISA-related matters, serving clients who face complex insurance and disability, health, life, and pension benefit issues. The firm is dedicated to providing clear guidance, thorough case evaluation, and strong advocacy for individuals navigating challenging benefit disputes. Team members work in a detail-oriented, client-centered environment, supporting attorneys as they build and manage cases. ERISA Law Center values professionalism, reliability, and respectful communication with clients and colleagues. Role Description The Law Office Intake Specialist / Receptionist / File and Medical Records Clerk is a full-time, on-site position based in Fresno, CA. This role serves as the first point of contact for prospective and current clients, manages incoming calls, greets visitors, and helps ensure a professional and welcoming experience. Daily responsibilities include conducting detailed client intake interviews, gathering preliminary case information, asking provided intake questions clearly and consistently, following up with additional questions when necessary, and accurately entering information into case management systems. The role also involves scheduling appointments, routing calls and messages, handling mail, maintaining organized electronic and physical client files and records, requesting medical records for cases, following up on those requests through receipt, tracking requested documents, coordinating with medical offices when needed, running office-related errands when necessary, helping keep the office and shared work areas organized and presentable, including by scanning and shredding closed file, keeping the kitchen in order, including by loading the dishwasher and putting dishes away, and supporting attorneys and staff with general administrative tasks that help keep office operations running smoothly. Answer phone calls is a top priority, so the candidate must be comfortable spending a significant portion of the workday on the phone. The position requires the ability to prioritize multiple tasks, stay organized, and work independently and as part of a team. Qualifications Strong Communication and Interpersonal Skills to interact effectively with clients, attorneys, and staff. Client Intake and Customer Service abilities to manage inquiries, collect detailed information, and provide a professional, empathetic client experience. Basic understanding of insurance and benefits-related terminology or willingness to learn ERISA-related concepts. Proficiency with Microsoft 365 Office Suite, general office software, case management or CRM systems, and accurate data entry skills. Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Prior experience in a law office, medical office, or insurance-related setting preferred but not necessary. High school diploma or equivalent required; additional coursework or training in legal studies, business, or office administration is a plus. Ability to maintain confidentiality, follow procedures, and uphold professional ethics at all times. Bilingual is a plus. Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle required. Job Details
• Job type: Ideally full-time. However, the firm is willing to work around college schedules to a reasonable extent.
