Part-Time (35 hours per week) About Us Lakeview Law Firm is a growing personal injury law firm committed to delivering exceptional client service through teamwork, organization, and excellence. We are seeking a dependable, highly organized File Clerk to support our legal team by ensuring our physical and electronic files remain accurate, organized, and accessible. This position is an excellent opportunity for a Loyola University New Orleans College of Law evening student , a Law Clerk who has experience working in PI Firms, or someone pursuing a legal career in Personal Injury Law looking to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced law firm. Position Summary The File Clerk plays a vital role in keeping our office running efficiently. This individual will be responsible for organizing case files, maintaining file rooms and storage areas, scanning and uploading documents, assisting with office logistics, and supporting attorneys and staff with administrative tasks. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working with both physical files and technology. Responsibilities Organize and maintain physical client files and electronic case files Upload documents into our case management system accurately and promptly Scan and electronically file medical records, police reports, bills, correspondence, photographs, and other case documents Ensure files are complete, properly labeled, and organized according to firm standards Organize and maintain file closets, storage rooms, and archived files Assist with organizing files for depositions, hearings, mediations, and trials Handle local court runs and document deliveries Receive, sort, and distribute incoming mail Maintain office supply inventory and assist with office logistics Assist with office organization, furniture movement, and general office cleanup as needed Provide minimal backup reception coverage when necessary Support attorneys and staff with administrative and organizational projects Help maintain standardized file structures throughout the firm's case management system Qualifications Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently Comfortable using computers, scanners, and office technology Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive client information Strong time management and multitasking abilities Basic knowledge of legal terminology preferred Previous office or legal experience is a plus but not required Current Loyola University New Orleans College of Law evening student strongly preferred Physical Requirements Ability to regularly lift and carry items weighing up to 10 pounds Ability to move files, boxes, and office materials as needed Ability to stand, walk, bend, and organize mail and files throughout the workday Why Join Lakeview Law Firm?
