We're seeking a fluent English/Spanish Bilingual Forensic Interviewer to conduct developmentally appropriate, trauma-informed forensic interviews with children, collaborate with multidisciplinary partners, and play a vital role in child abuse investigations throughout Lane County.
What You'll Do:
Conduct trauma-informed, developmentally appropriate forensic interviews with children using the Oregon Interviewing Guidelines. Collaborate with law enforcement, child welfare, prosecutors, medical providers, and other multidisciplinary team (MDT) partners throughout the assessment process. Document interviews, maintain accurate case records, and contribute to multidisciplinary case review. Provide fact and, when appropriate, expert witness testimony in criminal and civil court proceedings. Participate in ongoing training, peer review, and professional development to maintain best-practice interviewing skills. Deliver outreach, education, and consultation to MDT and community partners on child abuse and forensic interviewing.
What We're Looking For:
Fluent English/Spanish (required). Bachelor's degree with 4+ years or Master's degree with 2+ years of experience in child abuse, social work, counseling, psychology, child development, or a related field. Ability to pass a fingerprint-based criminal background check and child welfare history check.
Required Training:
Completion of Oregon Child Forensic Interviewing Training (OCFIT) is preferred; candidates without prior training must complete OCFIT prior to conducting any Forensic Interviews. The next available OCFIT training is October 26-30 in Eugene, Oregon, and selected candidates must be available to attend.
