Job Description
Organizational Mission:
The mission of a Children's Advocacy Center is to provide a safe, child-focused environment where children and families impacted by abuse receive coordinated services, compassionate support, and access to justice while promoting healing, prevention, and community awareness.Job Summary:
Conducts thorough interviews of children referred by law enforcement and child protective service agencies. Interviews are conducted in a developmentally and forensically appropriate manner. Audio and visual recorded interviews are conducted by the forensic interviewer in a child-friendly and team-supported environment. Additional responsibilities include supporting the general day-to-day activities of the Children's Advocacy Center.Primary Responsibilities:
Conducts forensic interviews of children ages 3-18 based on best practice standards of the National Children's Alliance or other national training organizations Prepares for, attends, and presents testimony in court hearings as subpoenaed. Including both civil and criminal court Maintains and expands skill level and relevant knowledge base through peer review, research, and professional growth Provides and/or participates in training with associate agencies and the community to promote the Children's Advocacy Center model for general child abuse prevention and intervention strategies Facilitates and participates in monthly multidisciplinary team case review meetings and statewide peer review for forensic interviewersRequired Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in social work or related field.
- At least one year of experience working with children and families, and a demonstrated knowledge of the dynamics of child abuse, preferred.
- Proficiency in Spanish preferred, but not required.
- High level of written and oral communication skills, organizational skills, computer skills, and collaborative capabilities
- Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; able to manage priorities and workflow.
- Ability to work effectively with a diversity of individuals at all organizational levels.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Background checks - child abuse history, criminal history, and FBI clearances.
- Valid PA Driver's License and proof of auto insurance
Salary and Benefits:
