Job Description
Job Overview The person selected for this position will fill a critical role in our agency, in the communities we serve, and most importantly, in the lives of child abuse survivors and their protective caregivers. Partners in the Roxanne's House Program include all law enforcement agencies, prosecutors, Child Protective Services, and Court Appointed Special Advocates serving Hays and Caldwell counties. The successful candidate will need to work very closely with personnel from these agencies and foster a supportive team approach to addressing the problem of child abuse. Primary responsibilities will include conducting sensitive and thorough interviews with children believed to be victims of child abuse and/or neglect. Duties Conduct sensitive and thorough interviews with children believed to be victims of child abuse and/or neglect. Consult with investigative team members before, during, and after forensic video interviews. Coordinate forensic video interviews services of children who have made an outcry of abuse when video is requested by law enforcement or Child Protective Services. Complete a Forensic Interview Summary for all child abuse interviews. Make appropriate referrals to CPS when required. Testify as fact and/or expert witness in CPS and/or criminal court as needed. Develop and maintain good relations with law enforcement and criminal justice personnel in Hays and Caldwell counties. We are seeking a compassionate, dedicated professional who is committed to supporting children and families impacted by abuse. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong understanding of child abuse dynamics, trauma-informed care, and the multidisciplinary response to child abuse. Successful candidates will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to build rapport with children and caregivers, and the professionalism required to work effectively with law enforcement, child protective services, medical professionals, and prosecutors. A bachelor's degree in a related field is required. Experience working with children, victims of trauma, or within the child welfare, advocacy, or criminal justice systems is preferred.
