Office Administrator SUMMARY:
Baker, Donelson, Bearman, Caldwell, & Berkowitz, PC has an opening for a Litigation Legal Support Coordinator in its Atlanta office. The ideal candidate will have a high level of legal experience (minimum of 3 years) and administrative experience, exceptional communication and organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Candidates should be proficient in MS Word (high priority), Outlook, and Excel, and be able to type at least 65 words per minute with high accuracy. The candidate should be detail-oriented, a self-starter with excellent problem-solving skills, and able to work well in a fast-paced environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential functions are primarily job duties that incumbents must be able to perform unassisted or with some reasonable accommodation made by the employer. Maintaining calendars with litigation dates and deadlines Prioritizing and executing tasks quickly and accurately Draft, review and format legal documents (pleadings, discovery requests/responses, motions, correspondence) under attorney supervision, draft and proofread as needed Preparing shell documents for attorneys in relation to discovery, orders, motions, trials and other proceedings E-file with applicable courts, coordinate filing confirmations, and securely scan, index and store documents Handling a high volume of proofreading; Updating and maintaining files, physical and electronic Time entry, reviewing client bills, conducting client conflict checks, new business intake, transcribing dictation Reviewing vendor invoices and processing them for payment Assisting attorneys and paralegals in preparation for hearings, mediations, arbitrations and trials Performs other duties as requested by the Office Administrator Physical presence in the office is an essential duty of this position
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
At least three (3) years of experience providing administrative support in a professional law firm environment A bachelor's degree is a plus At least one (1) year of litigation experience Demonstrates strategic thinking and initiative in handling assignments and projects Experience with BigHand is a plus Work occasionally requires a high level of mental effort and strain when producing a high volume of information Work occasionally requires more than 40 hours per week to perform the essential duties of the position; may require irregular hours.
