Applicants:
ChampionPEO is assisting MJS Law with the initial screening and recruitment for this position. Qualified applicants will be contacted by ChampionPEO for the first round of screening. Final interviews and hiring decisions will be conducted directly by the employer. Key Responsibilities Draft, prepare, and proofread legal correspondence and court documents File legal documents with courts via e-filing systems (state and federal) Manage attorney calendars, including scheduling court dates, meetings, and deadlines Answer and direct phone calls, greet clients, and manage front-office responsibilities Organize and maintain physical and digital case files Assist with trial preparation, including organizing exhibits and documentation Communicate with courts, clients, and other legal professionals Handle incoming and outgoing mail, including certified filings Other administrative and office tasks as needed Qualifications 5+ years of legal secretary or legal assistant experience (criminal defense or family law preferred) Strong understanding of legal terminology, court procedures, and filing systems Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and legal case management software Excellent written and verbal communication skills Detail-oriented with strong time-management and organizational abilities Professional demeanor, discretion, and ability to maintain confidentiality Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced legal environment Benefits Full benefits package after waiting period (includes medical, dental, and vision) 401(k) with generous employer match Generous PTO and holiday schedule Private office workspace in a modern, fully equipped law office Close proximity to local courts - ideal for legal professionals Employer-paid parking pass If you're a motivated legal professional with the skills and attitude to match our fast-paced legal environment, we encourage you to apply.
