We are growing and looking for a full-time in office experienced, detail-oriented Litigation Legal Assistant/Secretary to support our litigation/municipal defense team. The successful candidate will work with a dynamic team of attorneys and paralegals on defense matters in both state and federal courts. Key Responsibilities:
Provide administrative and legal support to attorneys Prepare and proofread legal documents, including notices of claim, answers and acknowledgment letters Maintain case calendars and track deadlines Communicate professionally with clients, courts and third parties File documents electronically in state and federal courts Maintain digital files with precision Manage attorney calendars and schedule appointments Schedule depositions and mediations Coordinate meetings with clients and court personnel Handle dictation, calls, emails, and general office tasks Copy, scan, mail or arrange delivery of legal correspondence Prepare and distribute client invoices and process account expenses Keep operations running smoothly behind the scenes
Qualifications:
2+ years litigation legal assistant experience required Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal technology tools Proficiency with electronic filing systems in both state and federal courts Strong organizational, communication and time management skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively High attention to detail and accuracy Familiarity with legal terminology and procedures Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks
