PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To provide essential business office functions by maintaining compliant billing and collecting of medical services provided by BBAHC. This function includes of IHS, Self-Pay, Commercial as well as Medicare and Medicaid third party insurance groups.
QUALIFICATIONS
1. High school graduate or GED equivalent. 2. Two (2) years documented Medical Billing experience. 3. Ability to monitor/mentor Biller Specialist I for accuracy and training. 4. Willingness to obtain certification (Certified Billing Specialist) within one year of hire. 5. Computer literate with typing speed of 60 wpm and can work in multiple computer platforms. 6. Ability to operate a multi-line phone system. 7. Prior general office/money handling experience required. 8. Medical terminology preferred or ability to obtain certificate within 1 year. 9. Yup'ik speaking preferred. 10. Must have a general understanding of insurance billing and willing to learn medical billing with supervised on-site training. 11. Excellent verbal and written customer service skills and ability to interact in a positive HIPAA compliant manner with patients and co-workers. 12. Well organized and detail oriented. 13. Able to work with minimal supervision and resolve issues through research regarding medical billing. 14. Able to represent BBAHC in a professional manner.
