Full Job Description Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze medical documentation to ensure accurate coding and billing
- Assign appropriate medical codes (ICD-10, DRG) to diagnoses and procedures
- Verify patient insurance coverage and process claims for reimbursement
- Follow up on unpaid or denied claims and resolve billing discrepancies
- Maintain patient records and ensure confidentiality of medical information
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to obtain necessary documentation for billing purposes
- Stay updated on changes in medical coding regulations and guidelines
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Medical Biller or in a similar role for 1 year or more
- Proficient in medical terminology and coding systems (ICD-10)
- Knowledge of medical billing software and electronic health records systems
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in coding and billing processes
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients
- Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and professionalism
- Familiarity with medical collections processes is a plus
