Job Description

About the Position We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical-Legal Biller to join our growing team. This position plays a vital role in managing personal injury and medical-legal accounts by coordinating with attorneys, and internal staff regarding billing, lien negotiations, claim status updates, and account resolution. The ideal candidate will be highly professional, possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, and thrive in a fast-paced environment that requires accuracy, follow-through, and strong organizational abilities. Responsibilities Prepare and submit medical-legal billing for personal injury claims. Communicate with attorneys regarding case status, settlement updates, and account balances. Assist with lien negotiations and settlement reductions. Track and maintain case status information and follow up on outstanding accounts. Review and reconcile billing records for accuracy. Request and review settlement documentation when applicable. Maintain detailed account notes and documentation. Work collaboratively with providers, management, and clinical staff to resolve billing issues. Ensure all billing and collection activities comply with applicable regulations and company policies.
Qualifications Preferred Experience:
Medical billing experience. Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and medical coding principles. Personal Injury (PI) case management experience. Experience working with attorney liens, settlements, or medical-legal accounts. Collections, accounts receivable, or revenue cycle experience.
Required Skills:
Exceptional attention to detail. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines simultaneously. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook. Ability to work independently while maintaining a team-oriented mindset. Professional demeanor when communicating with attorneys, patients, and staff. Experience in medical billing, personal injury, workers' compensation, or medical-legal collections is highly desirable, but we are willing to train the right candidate with strong administrative skills and attention to detail. $23.00 - $26.00 per hour
