Job Description

About the Role Looking for a detail-oriented Dental Credentialing Specialist to join our team. This role owns the full credentialing lifecycle—from submitting new provider applications to insurance plans, to renegotiating contracted fee schedules, to keeping every clinical provider's credentials current. You'll be the backbone of our credentialing department, ensuring providers stay in-network, compliant, and paid accurately. What You'll Do Prepare and submit dental plan credentialing and re-credentialing applications for all providers Negotiate and renegotiate contracted fee schedules with dental insurance payers Track and renew clinical provider credentials, including licenses, DEA registrations, malpractice insurance, and CPR/BLS certifications, before they expire Maintain and update CAQH profiles and payer credentialing portals Follow up with insurance companies to resolve delays, denials, or missing information on credentialing applications Keep credentialing files, databases, and provider records accurate and audit-ready Support credentialing for new provider onboarding, including gathering required documentation Monitor application status and provide regular updates to practice leadership Ensure compliance with state, federal, and payer-specific credentialing requirements and timelines Coordinate with billing and front-office staff on credentialing-related issues affecting claims Handle additional credentialing department responsibilities as they arise What We're Looking For 2+ years of experience in dental or healthcare credentialing Working knowledge of CAQH, NPI, and dental payer credentialing portals Understanding of dental insurance plans, fee schedules, and contract negotiation Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; comfortable tracking multiple deadlines at once Clear written and verbal communication skills, with confidence handling negotiations with payers Proficiency with Microsoft Office and credentialing/practice management software Ability to work independently and keep a busy credentialing pipeline organized Nice to Have Dental billing experience Prior experience in a dental office or dental support organization
