Chinese Hospital | San Francisco Bay Area About This Role Department Clinics Reports to Clinic Manager Type Full Time, Non Exempt Requisition # 12715 Position Summary This position carries out the day to day functions of the billing department, some bookkeeping duties and supports the overall operation of the clinic. Clinic biller is responsible for timely submission of medical claims to insurance companies. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Physician/Clinic Medicare, Medical and all third party carriers insurance billing Responsible for accounts receivable management, accounts follow up and collection Maintain the accuracy of data within the automatic/electronic billing system Prepare and reconcile daily bank deposit Review patient bills for accuracy and completeness, and obtain any missing information Prepare, review, and transmit claims using billing software, including electronic and paper claim processing Follow up on unpaid claims within standard billing cycle Review insurance payment for accuracy and compliance with contract discounts Communicate with insurance companies regarding discrepancies in payments when necessary Answer and attend to patient or insurance telephone inquiries pertaining to assigned accounts Prepare and run monthly financials reports Assist in special projects or reports relating to accounts receivable data Follows Hospital and Department policies and procedures at all times, including but not limited to: Administrative Manual, Environment of Care, Human Resources, Infection Control, Corporate Compliance, Code of Ethics, etc. Attend, actively participate and complete in-services, training classes, mandatory classes, seminars/workshops, staff meetings, exercises and drills; reads all department communication and assigned materials.
