Our client is an innovative provider of home respiratory and Home Medical Equipment (HME), committed to helping patients with complex respiratory conditions live healthier, more comfortable lives. They are seeking an experienced Medical Biller to play a key role in managing the revenue cycle while supporting patients and ensuring accurate reimbursement for life-sustaining services. What You'll Do- Prepare, review, and submit electronic and paper claims to Medicare, Medi-Cal, private insurance carriers, and other payers.
- Accurately apply ICD-10, HCPCS, and CPT coding for home medical equipment and respiratory products.
- Investigate, appeal, and resolve denied or underpaid claims to maximize reimbursement.
- Verify insurance eligibility, obtain prior authorizations, confirm prescriptions, and ensure complete referral documentation before billing.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for insurance carriers regarding billing and authorization issues.
- Assist patients with billing questions and insurance-related concerns in a professional and compassionate manner. What You Bring
- Minimum of 5 years of medical billing and coding experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of billing experience within a Home Medical Equipment (HME) environment.
- Direct experience billing home respiratory equipment, including ventilators, oxygen, and CPAP/BiPAP, is highly preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of ICD-10, HCPCS, and CPT coding.
- Experience with insurance verification, eligibility, prior authorizations, and patient intake.
- Fluent in English; bilingual Spanish is highly preferred.
