In this role, you will play a crucial part in our revenue cycle management by accurately processing medical claims, managing patient accounts, and ensuring timely reimbursement from insurance providers. Your analytical skills and commitment to accuracy will directly impact our organization's financial health and operational efficiency.
Process and submit medical claims to insurance companies with precision and attention to detailReview patient accounts and verify insurance coverage prior to service deliveryAnalyze claim denials and rejections, identify root causes, and implement corrective actionsFollow up on outstanding claims to ensure timely payment and resolutionEnter and maintain accurate patient billing information in medical billing software systemsApply appropriate ICD-10 and CPT coding to ensure proper claim submissionCommunicate with patients regarding billing inquiries, payment options, and account balancesReconcile patient accounts and resolve billing discrepancies efficientlyMaintain comprehensive knowledge of insurance plans, policies, and coverage requirementsEnsure all billing activities comply with HIPAA regulations and organizational standardsGenerate billing reports and provide data analysis to support revenue cycle improvementsCollaborate with clinical and administrative staff to resolve billing-related issuesQualificationsProven experience in medical billing and claims processingProficiency with medical billing software and Electronic Health Records (EHR) systemsStrong knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding systemsComprehensive understanding of HIPAA regulations and healthcare compliance requirementsExcellent attention to detail with demonstrated ability to maintain high accuracy standardsExceptional organizational and time management skillsProficiency in data entry with proven accuracy in handling sensitive informationKnowledge of insurance verification and patient account management processesStrong analytical and problem-solving abilitiesExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work independently and meet established deadlinesFamiliarity with multiple insurance plans and billing proceduresCustomer service experience in a healthcare setting (preferred)Medical terminology knowledge (preferred)2+ years of medical billing experience (preferred)Additional InformationKanz is an equal opportunity employer committed to building a diverse and inclusive team.
