You will also be cross-trained across the Business Office to support our Patient Accounts staff and assist the Business Office Manager with special projects.
salary:
$25 - $28 per hour shift: First work hours: 8 AM - 5 PM education: High School Responsibilities The Collections Representative maintains records in patient accounting, insurance reimbursement and billing and collection processing. This position will be responsible for working with insurance companies and third party agencies to insure collections on patient accounts. The Collections Representative uses Excel spreadsheets and will have an understanding of credit balances and insurance verification. This position will be crossed trained in other areas of the Business Office and will be responsible for filling in when other Patient Accounts staff are absent. This position assists the Business Office Manager with special projects as needed. Follows and abides by Company policies, procedures, and Corporate Compliance Program, as applicable to role and responsibilities. Completes the UB04 claims forms to submit to Third Party payors. Ensures all locators on the UB04 are complete and accurate. Ensures that all necessary documents that need to accompany a claim form are available. Checks the Medicare "Common Working File" for current benefits available with Medicare patients before billing, correcting claim as needed. Prints or saves a copy of relevant materials to appropriate folders as needed. Notifies the Business Office Manager when a patient has limited benefits. Transmits claims electronically and/or hard copy, whichever is applicable. Skills ? Medical Billing ? Claims Processing ? Collections Qualifications ?
