In this pivotal role, you will be the key liaison between patients, insurance providers, and our office staff, ensuring smooth and efficient processing of dental insurance claims and benefits. Your expertise will help maximize patient coverage, streamline billing processes, and enhance overall patient satisfaction. This position offers an exciting opportunity to utilize your medical coding skills and insurance knowledge in a fast-paced, supportive environment dedicated to delivering exceptional dental care. Duties Review and verify dental insurance benefits using DRG (Diagnosis-Related Group), CPT (Current Procedural Terminology) coding, ICD-9, and ICD-10 codes to ensure accurate claim submissions. Prepare and submit insurance claims electronically through EMR (Electronic Medical Records) or EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards. Follow up on unpaid or denied claims by communicating with insurance companies to resolve discrepancies and expedite payments. Assist patients with understanding their dental coverage, explaining benefits, copayments, deductibles, and out-of-pocket expenses clearly and professionally. Maintain detailed records of all insurance correspondence, claim statuses, and payment histories for accurate medical records management. Collaborate with the dental team to ensure all procedures are properly documented with appropriate medical terminology and coding for billing accuracy. Conduct periodic audits of medical billing processes to identify opportunities for improvement in collections and claim accuracy. Experience Proven experience in medical or dental office administration with a focus on insurance coordination or billing. Strong knowledge of dental insurance policies, including familiarity with
DRG, CPT
coding, ICD-9, ICD-10, and medical terminology. Experience working with EMR/EHR systems for medical records management and billing purposes. Demonstrated ability to handle medical collections efficiently while maintaining excellent customer service skills. Prior experience in medical coding or billing within a dental practice is highly desirable. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in managing complex claims processes. Ability to communicate effectively with insurance providers, patients, and team members to resolve issues promptly.
