Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Biller to join our healthcare team. This role combines administrative responsibilities with medical billing tasks, requiring a professional who is proficient in medical coding, billing procedures, and patient interaction. Certified Coders and Billers are preferred. Billing Experience is
REQUIRED.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with EMR/EHR systems and possess strong knowledge of medical terminology and coding standards such as DRG, CPT, ICD-9, and ICD-10. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to efficient office operations while ensuring accurate billing and excellent patient service. Responsibilities Prepare and submit insurance claims using appropriate coding standards (DRG, CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10). Call insurance companies to check benefits for new patients. Post insurance payments and patient payments. Review denied claims and call insurance companies, if needed. Send patient statements Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with privacy regulations Assist with administrative tasks such as answering phones, managing correspondence, and organizing medical documentation Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure proper documentation for billing purposes Stay current with updates in medical coding guidelines and billing regulations Perform receptionist duties, along with the full-time receptionist, if needed. Requirements Proven experience in medical billing, coding, or related administrative roles within a healthcare setting Strong knowledge of medical terminology, medical records management, and coding systems (DRG, CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10) Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems and office management software Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail to ensure accurate billing and recordkeeping Ability to handle sensitive patient information confidentially in accordance with HIPAA regulations Effective communication skills for interacting professionally with patients and insurance companies Prior experience in a medical office environment is preferred but not mandatory This position is integral to maintaining the financial health of the practice while delivering exceptional patient care through efficient administrative support.
