This position is dedicated solely to medical billing and revenue cycle functions. This is not a management or supervisory role. The ideal candidate has experience with physician office billing, understands insurance claim processing, and is comfortable working within Athenahealth. Responsibilities Submit and manage electronic insurance claims through Athenahealth Review claims for accuracy prior to submission Follow up on denied, rejected, and unpaid claims Post insurance and patient payments Work claim edits and resolve billing issues promptly Verify coding and documentation support billing requirements Communicate with insurance companies regarding claim status Process patient statements and assist with billing inquiries as needed Maintain accurate billing records while ensuring HIPAA compliance Collaborate with provider and office staff to resolve billing discrepancies Qualifications Minimum 4 years of medical billing experience preferred Experience with Athenahealth strongly preferred Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS coding Understanding of commercial insurance, Medicare, and Medicaid billing Experience with claim denials, appeals, and payment posting Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to work independently and prioritize workload Excellent communication and customer service skills Preferred Qualifications CPC, CPB, or equivalent billing certification is a plus Family Practice or Primary Care billing experience preferred What We're Looking For Reliable attendance and professionalism Strong work ethic with a commitment to accuracy Ability to stay organized in a fast paced environment Someone who enjoys problem solving and takes ownership of their work Team player who communicates effectively and contributes to a positive workplace If you're an experienced medical biller who takes pride in accurate, timely work and enjoys being part of a patient focused practice, we'd love to hear from you.
