Job Description
JOB SUMMARY
This position facilitates positive image for Home Care. This position bills home health services accurately and according to regulations to ensure that maximum and appropriate reimbursement is obtained. This role also includes other duties assigned and based on the home care agency's needs and requirements.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Completes and files Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance claim information. Post all payments by protocol. Reviews correspondence from Medicare, Medicaid and other insurance regarding problems and denials. Responsible for keeping up to date with changes in Medicare, Medicaid and private insurance policy changes and educating other staff. Responsible for assuring that the agency meets its target for AR days. Responds to denials and other payment delays completely and promptly. Participates in staff meetings and customer service programs as required to ensure the agency meets its goals and obligations to the community. Assist with gathering data for monthly statistics reports and complete monthly CMS required reports. Assist director in reviewing and processing write-off accounts as well as chart audits for skilled clients. Assist Referral and Intake personnel and Medical Records Clerk as needed. Billing for Private Pay accounts - sending invoicing and ensuring that amounts billed are accurate. Assist customers/clients with account questions. Check eligibility of Clients for home health coverage and authorizations as needed. Assist with daily running of office.PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS/ENVIRONMENT
Uses good judgment and critical thinking skills. Essential functions of the position require adequate communication skills, reading, writing, keyboarding, exerting up to 10 pounds of force regularly and up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.Other requirements:

;Education/Experience :
High school education or GED preferred. Two years applicable healthcare or billing experience strongly preferred.Technical Competencies :
Must be extremely proficient in computer applications. Medical terminology proficiency, preferred General office equipment: fax machine, copier, scanner, multi-line phone system Effective organization and interpersonal skills Ability to cope with multiple tasks and demandsBehavioral Competencies :
Demonstrates an ability to function successfully in a team environment. Exhibits courteous, compassionate and respectful treatment of internal and external customers.
