Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Medical Biller to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the billing process, ensuring accurate coding, and facilitating timely reimbursement from insurance companies and patients. This role requires a strong understanding of medical billing procedures, coding systems, and medical records management to support efficient revenue cycle operations. The Medical Biller will play a vital role in maintaining the financial health of our practice while ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations. Responsibilities Prepare and submit accurate claims using
DRG, CPT
coding, ICD-9, ICD-10, and ICD coding standards. Review and verify medical records to ensure proper documentation for billing purposes. Manage accounts receivable by following up on unpaid claims and resolving billing discrepancies. Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify diagnoses or procedures as needed for accurate coding. Utilize EMR and EHR systems to input data, track claims status, and update patient records. Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and insurance requirements during the billing process. Maintain organized records of all billing transactions and correspondence related to collections. Assist in resolving patient billing inquiries promptly and professionally. Skills Proficiency in medical billing software, EMR systems, and EHR systems. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, medical records management, and coding standards including DRG, CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10, and ICD coding. Experience with medical collection processes and insurance claim submissions. Familiarity with medical office procedures and documentation practices. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills to ensure accuracy in billing processes. Ability to interpret complex medical documents and translate them into correct billing codes. Effective communication skills for collaborating with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients.
