(based on experience) + Monthly Performance Bonuses Join One of Charlotte's Fastest Growing Dental Teams City Park Dental is looking for an experienced, detail-oriented, and motivated Dental Insurance Coordinator who takes pride in getting claims paid, maximizing collections, and helping patients understand their insurance benefits. Responsibilities Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits Submit insurance claims accurately and promptly Follow up on outstanding insurance claims daily Appeal denied or underpaid claims Review and resolve claim rejections Post insurance payments accurately Coordinate with front office and clinical team to ensure proper documentation Explain treatment estimates and insurance benefits to patients Work insurance aging reports to maximize collections Communicate with insurance companies regarding claim status Maintain accurate patient accounts Assist with treatment plan presentation and financial arrangements Ensure insurance information remains current and accurate Help maintain excellent patient satisfaction and office efficiency Qualifications Minimum 2 years of dental insurance experience preferred Experience with PPO insurance plans Knowledge of claim submission and insurance billing Strong understanding of dental coding (CDT codes) Experience with Open Dental (preferred but not required) Excellent communication skills Strong organizational skills Ability to multitask in a fast-paced office Positive attitude with strong attention to detail Team player with a growth mindset What We Offer Competitive hourly pay Monthly performance bonuses Paid time off after a year with the team Continuing education opportunities Modern technology and systems Supportive leadership team Opportunities for career growth within a multi-office dental group Who We're Looking For We're looking for someone who: Takes ownership of their work Loves solving problems Doesn't let claims sit unresolved Communicates professionally with patients and insurance companies Wants to grow with a rapidly expanding dental organization Believes every dollar collected helps us provide better care for our patients If you're dependable, organized, and passionate about helping patients while ensuring insurance claims are handled accurately and efficiently, we'd love to hear from you. Duties Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility prior to appointments using electronic health records (EHR) systems and insurance portals Submit accurate dental insurance claims utilizing CPT (Current Procedural Terminology) codes, ICD (International Classification of Diseases) codes, and
ICD-9/10
coding standards Follow up on outstanding claims, manage denials, and resubmit as needed to ensure timely reimbursement Maintain comprehensive medical records and ensure all documentation complies with HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) regulations and clinical confidentiality policies Educate patients on their dental insurance benefits, coverage limitations, and out-of-pocket costs Collaborate with managed care organizations and insurance providers to resolve billing issues or discrepancies Keep up-to-date with evolving health insurance policies, dental coding guidelines, and industry best practices to optimize claim processing efficiency Qualifications Prior experience in a medical or dental office setting with a focus on insurance verification and billing Strong knowledge of health insurance policies, managed care processes, and medical coding including
CPT, ICD-9/10
coding standards Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems and electronic health records management tools Understanding of HIPAA regulations and commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality at all times Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in handling medical records and billing documentation Ability to communicate clearly with patients, insurance companies, and team members in a professional manner Knowledge of dental office operations combined with medical terminology expertise is highly preferred Join us in delivering outstanding patient care by ensuring seamless insurance processes!
