Responsibilities Prepare and submit accurate healthcare claims using billing software, ensuring compliance with all coding standards including CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9, ICD-10, and DRG (Diagnosis-Related Group) classifications. Review medical records and documentation to assign appropriate ICD coding and medical terminology for precise billing. Manage accounts receivable by following up on unpaid or denied claims through healthcare claims management processes. Verify patient insurance coverage, health insurance details, and benefits to facilitate smooth claim processing. Utilize EMR (Electronic Medical Records) and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems to access patient information, update records, and ensure billing accuracy. Communicate effectively with patients regarding billing inquiries, payment plans, or outstanding balances with a focus on customer service excellence. Maintain detailed records of all billing activities, claims submissions, adjustments, and collections in compliance with healthcare regulations.
