Experienced Medical Laboratory Billing/Collections Specialist Location:

Edison, NJ (On-site) We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented experienced Medical Laboratory Billing Specialist to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of Medical Laboratory Billing procedures, insurance claim processing, denial management, and accounts receivable follow-up Responsibilities Submit and process medical laboratory claims accurately and timely review and resolve claim denials and rejections Follow up on unpaid or underpaid claims with insurance companies Verify insurance eligibility and patient information Work with CPT, ICD-10, and modifier coding related to laboratory services Maintain accurate billing records and documentation Review Explanation of Benefits and payer correspondence Communicate with insurance carriers regarding claim status and appeals Monitor aging reports and assist with accounts receivable management Ensure compliance with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payer guidelines Collaborate with office staff and management to improve billing efficiency Other duties as needed Skills Minimum 3 years of Medical Laboratory Billing experience required Strong understanding of medical terminology, CPT, ICD-10, and insurance billing procedures Experience with denial management and AR follow-upKnowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance policiesExperience with EMR/EHR and medical billing software Strong organizational and communication skillsAbility to work independently and meet deadlines Certification (AAPC, AHIMA, or similar) is a plus, but not required Familiarity with payer portals and clearinghouses Strong problem-solving and analytical skills Attention to detail and accuracy Proficiency in MS Excel Detail-oriented with a strong problem-solving mindset. Ability to work independently and meet strict reporting deadlines Compensation is based on experience Full-time/Part-Time Competitive compensation based on experience Opportunity for growth

Pay:

$40,000.00 - $55,500.00 per year
