Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Biller and Surgical Coordinator to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will manage the entire billing process, ensuring accurate coding and timely submission of insurance claims. You will coordinate surgical procedures, handle medical records, and facilitate seamless communication between patients, providers, and insurance companies. Your expertise will directly contribute to optimizing revenue cycle management and enhancing patient care experiences. Responsibilities Prepare and submit insurance claims using billing software ensuring compliance with health insurance policies. Manage accounts receivable by following up on unpaid or denied claims through medical collection efforts. Coordinate surgical scheduling, preoperative documentation, and post-operative billing processes to streamline patient care workflows. Maintain comprehensive medical records and ensure confidentiality in accordance with medical coding guidelines and privacy regulations. Stay updated on changes in medical coding standards, insurance policies, and revenue cycle management best practices to improve billing efficiency. Skills Strong knowledge of
ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT
coding, DRG classifications, and medical terminology. Experience with medical billing software, EMR/EHR systems, and electronic health record management for billing and coding. Proficiency in health insurance claim processing, third-party billing, and revenue cycle management. Familiarity with medical office operations, including medical records management and insurance verification processes. Ability to interpret medical coding guidelines for inpatient services and outpatient procedures accurately. Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills to handle multiple claims and documentation tasks efficiently. Effective communication skills for collaborating with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients. $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
