Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Medical Biller/Collector to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the billing process, ensuring accurate coding, and facilitating timely collections. This role requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, coding systems, and the ability to navigate medical records efficiently. Will entertain both full and part time hours. Duties Review and verify patient information and insurance details to ensure accuracy in billing. Utilize ICD-10 coding systems to assign appropriate codes for diagnoses and procedures. Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies, ensuring compliance with all regulations. Follow up on unpaid claims and work with insurance companies to resolve any issues or discrepancies. Maintain detailed records of billing activities, payments received, and outstanding balances. Collaborate with healthcare providers to obtain necessary documentation for coding and billing purposes. Assist in the collection of payments from patients as needed, providing clear communication regarding their accounts. Stay updated on changes in medical billing regulations and coding practices to ensure compliance. Experience Proven experience in medical billing is a must. Primary role is A/R follow up. Familiarity with medical records management and medical office operations is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of medical terminology and medical collection processes. Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and billing software is expected. Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively. Ability to communicate clearly with patients, healthcare providers, and insurance representatives.
