Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Medical Biller to join our healthcare administration team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of medical billing processes, coding systems, and insurance procedures. As a Medical Biller, you will be responsible for accurately submitting claims, managing accounts receivable, and ensuring timely reimbursement for medical services rendered. Your expertise in medical coding, billing systems, and medical records management will be essential in maintaining efficient financial operations within our healthcare facility. Duties Prepare and submit accurate insurance claims using CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9, ICD-10, and GSD coding standards to ensure proper reimbursement. Review and verify medical records and documentation to support billing accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements. Follow up on unpaid or denied claims through effective communication with insurance companies and patients to facilitate prompt resolution. Maintain detailed records of billing activities, payments, adjustments, and collections within Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems. Collaborate with medical office staff to ensure correct patient information and coding procedures are followed during the billing process. Stay current with updates in medical coding guidelines, insurance policies, and healthcare regulations to ensure compliance. Assist in resolving discrepancies related to medical records or billing errors while providing excellent customer service to patients regarding their accounts. Back up Front Desk Staff as needed Filing, telephones, etc. Qualifications Proven experience in medical billing with a solid understanding of CPT coding, ICD-10 coding systems, GSD and medical terminology. Familiarity with EMR and EHR systems used for managing medical records and billing information. Strong knowledge of medical collection procedures and insurance claim processing workflows. Excellent attention to detail with the ability to analyze complex medical documentation accurately. Effective communication skills for interacting with insurance providers, patients, and healthcare staff. Prior experience in a medical office environment is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided for the right candidate. Knowledge of healthcare regulations and compliance standards related to medical billing practices. Pay:
$19.00 - $25.00 per hour
