Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Payment Poster to join our medical office team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately posting payments and adjustments to patient accounts, ensuring that all transactions are recorded in compliance with industry standards. This role is essential for maintaining the financial integrity of our practice and supporting the overall revenue cycle. Duties Accurately post payments from insurance companies and patients to the appropriate accounts. Review and reconcile payment discrepancies, ensuring accurate adjustments are made. Utilize medical coding knowledge, including ICD-10 and ICD-9, to ensure proper billing practices. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of DRG (Diagnosis Related Group) coding and its application in payment posting. Collaborate with the medical billing team to resolve any issues related to medical collections. Ensure that all medical records are processed accurately and in a timely manner. Assist in the preparation of reports related to payment postings and collections as needed. Experience Previous experience in a medical office setting is preferred, with a strong understanding of medical billing and coding processes. Familiarity with various medical billing systems and software is a plus. Knowledge of medical collection processes and regulations is beneficial. Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and the ability to work independently are essential for success in this role.
