Duties Review and interpret medical records to assign appropriate

ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT

(Current Procedural Terminology), and DRG (Diagnosis-Related Group) codes with precision. Prepare and submit accurate claims using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems to insurance companies and third-party payers. Follow up on unpaid or denied claims through effective medical collection practices, ensuring prompt resolution. Verify patient insurance information, eligibility, and benefits prior to billing to prevent delays. Maintain comprehensive and organized medical records, including documentation of coding decisions and billing activities. Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify documentation or coding discrepancies for accurate billing. Stay current with changes in medical coding standards, including updates to

ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT

coding systems, and compliance regulations. Experience Proven experience in medical billing and coding within a healthcare setting. Strong knowledge of

ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT

coding systems, as well as HCC coding. Familiarity with medical terminology, medical records management, and healthcare documentation standards. Experience working with EMR/EHR systems for billing and coding processes. Understanding of insurance claim submission procedures and medical collection practices. Knowledge of medical office operations, including appointment scheduling and patient record management is preferred. Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work efficiently under deadlines.
